Northwoods Collective was engaged to create a high-impact video for the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership’s “For the Future” campaign. The video aimed to celebrate the historical role of hunters and anglers in America’s conservation movement, address current threats to wildlife and habitats, and rally support from the TRCP’s 60 million-strong community of sportsmen and sportswomen to secure lasting conservation solutions.
1. Video Concept Development
Objective: Create a narrative that connects the TRCP’s mission to the legacy of conservation and the urgency of modern challenges.
Activities:
Collaborated with TRCP to develop a storyline emphasizing the historical contributions of hunters and anglers since the 1800s, inspired by figures like Theodore Roosevelt and TRCP co-founder Jim Range.
Crafted a script highlighting the success of species recovery (e.g., ducks, whitetail deer, elk) while addressing contemporary issues like wildlife disease, fractured habitats, and climate change.
Structured the video to end with a powerful call-to-action, encouraging viewers to support conservation efforts for habitat and access.
Outcome: Developed a cohesive narrative that balanced historical pride with forward-looking advocacy, resonating with TRCP’s audience of sportsmen and sportswomen.
2. Editing and Post Production
Objective: Ensure the video was polished, impactful, and aligned with TRCP’s brand identity.
Activities:
Edited footage to create a dynamic flow, integrating visuals of wildlife (e.g., elk, pronghorn antelope, native trout) and archival footage.
Added a professional voiceover to narrate the script, created graphics and animations emphasizing the TRCP’s role in uniting over 60 organizational partners and 130,000 individual advocates.
Included subtitles and on-screen text to enhance accessibility and reinforce key messages, such as the need for science-based solutions.
Outcome: Produced a high-quality, accessible video that effectively communicated the TRCP’s mission and inspired action among viewers.
